Testimonials

Donald's presentation was delightfully entertaining, engaging, and motivating. . . the evening was filled with laughter and enjoyment. As a direct result of a very satisfied audience, four members of the audience stepped up to volunteer their time and skills to the Dallas Section ASQ. Thank you, Donald!

WHAT OUTCOMES DO YOU SEEK?

Strategic Plan Execution

Many times an organization has an adequate strategic plan but that plan is not working well. There is a big gap between planning and execution. Even large corporations are not immune to this problem. We can help you build a bridge between the plan and execution so that the plan achieves its intended purpose.

Sometimes the plan is fine but there is a breakdown in execution for various reasons. However, we have found that many times the plan itself is inadequate. If this is true, then it is usually better to start over with the strategic planning process.

The key to successful execution is to identify the constraints that keep the plan from working and devise a workable solution.

Benefits

  • Clarifies progress on action plans
  • Identifies constraints in implementation of action plans
  • Creates clear accountabilities throughout organization for execution of plan
  • Devises effective tactics to overcome restraints
  • Modifies strategic plan to current context and customer requirements

Approach

We first review your current Strategic Plan to see if it is workable. It may be that your organization needs to create a new Strategic Plan. If the Plan is workable, then we bring in the strategic planning group to review and revise the Plan. The review session includes the following stages:

  • Action Plan Analysis — review current status and metrics
  • Identification of Constraints — scope, time, cost, HR issues, risk, quality, ethics, metrics, leadership’s role, communication, strategy. Each constraint is reviewed for performance, urgency, and trend.
  • Creation of Specific Tactics to Overcome Restraints — This stage brings in feedback from the entire group and ownership of the solution.
